The car seat needs to be given the same consideration but you need to do your own research on proper use and the proper seat for the age of your kids. Many parents buy an infant car seat and never changed it. Lots of adolescent children are crammed into seats that are too small for them and they aren't safe like that. These seats are designed to protect your child in case of an accident and if they are used improperly they can actually be more dangerous. A toddler car seat is designed around the body of a toddler, which is very different than that of an infant.
